SEASON PREMIERE OF 'THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA' PREMIERES TONIGHT AT 9 PM ON BRAVO.

(from left to right: Sheree Whitfield, Kim Zolciak, DeShawn Snow, Lisa Hartwell, Ne Ne Leakes.)

The day we have been waiting on is finally here. Finally. Get your TiVo's and DVRs read because tonight, the season premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will debut on the Bravo network at 9 pm eastern standard time with an encore at 11 pm. Expanding on the success of the original hit series The Real Housewives of Orange County and the watercooler sensation The Real Housewives of New York City, Bravo is heading South for its newest installment, The Real Housewives of Atlanta. An up-close and personal look at life in Hotlanta, The Real Housewives of Atlanta follows five glamorous Southern belles -- DeShawn Snow, Kim Zolciak, Lisa Hartwell, NeNe Leakes, and Sheree Whitfield-- as they balance motherhood, demanding careers and a fast-paced social calendar, and shows what life is like in the most exclusive areas of Atlanta. These driven and ambitious women prove that they're not just "housewives," but entrepreneurs, doting mothers and classy Southern women.

It's about damn time, Bravo added more color to their network. Anyhoo, expect the first episode to start off with a bang. A bang so big it will surely have you anticipating next week's episode. In the opening episode there's one course of drama after another. In the series premiere, Whitfield throws a birthday party for herself so she can stay on the social radar for when her upcoming clothing line launches. And while she hires a party director, publicist and numerous other coordinators to make sure everything goes smoothly, her guests have also hired the services of stylists and makeup artists to make sure they look their best. Tension runs high during the preparation phase, which includes a cake designed to look like her favorite bag. Then it runs higher when a misunderstanding occurs. Or is it a misunderstanding? Unfortunately, an oversight creates an incident at the party that does not improve the pre-existing friction between Whitfield and Leakes, who claims they're on good terms now. "I think Sheree is a lot of fun. She has a strong personality, and I have a strong personality as well," admits Leakes. "Sheree and I sometimes bump heads but when we first met -- which was about seven years ago -- we would talk on the phone, you know, five and six times a day. We hung out. Our children played together. Just as time went on, things just didn’t work out for us so we are cordial." Caught between the two is Leakes' friend Kim Zolciak, the only white Atlanta housewife featured. She owns up to being materialistic, which is good since her lifestyle is funded by her celebrity boyfriend, whom she keeps anonymous by only talking to him on the phone and referring to him as Big Papa.

Special thanks to Bravo's Orli Sharaby for reminding me of the show's premiere. To read brief bios of the castmates and watch clips from the show, go over to Bravo's official website at Bravotv.com.

BEYONCE COVERS ESSENCE MAGAZINE; SINGER DISHES ON NEW ALBUM, CHURCH & WHY SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE REMEMBERED AS A MEMBER OF DESTINY'S CHILD.

I told yall the Bey-mocracy was coming and she's taking no prisoners. Bey the beautiful is featured on the November 2008 cover issue of Essence magazine and she's sounding off on her six months marriage to Jay-Z and her new album (in stores November 18), which she says is her most personal album to date, why she insist on attending church services (which must be a strain considering she is Beyonce Knowles), being a superwoman and why she doesn't want to be remembered as a member of Destiny's Child. Beyonce also puts to rest rumors suggesting the delay of her new album is due in part to creative differences she's having with her hubby and her father Mathew Knowles. Check out a couple of excerpts from her interview below. I'll have HQ scans from her Essence photospread up later.

BEYONCE ON HER NEW ALBUM: "I wanted to address my fans about my upcoming album. I have worked on this album for close to one year. I have taken the time so I can create my sound. Something that says who I am at this stage in my life. I have poured my heart and soul into it. It is my baby. It is the most time I have spent on any project since my first records as a member of Destiny's Child when I was 15 years old. I have recorded over 70 songs and have created a sound that reveals all of me. I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me. The music is upbeat for the dance, fun side and it is reflective, passionate and serious for the personal side. I have taken risks here. I am not afraid and my music will explain it all. There is no label or tag on my sound. It's me and I am so excited to share it with the world on November 18."

BEYONCE ON ATTENDING CHURCH: "I completely believe that you don't have to go to church at all if you are disciplined enough to sit down and dedicate time to pray and get to know God and read the Bible. But me, it's better for me to go to church because it's hard to, for real, sit down by myself for that long, as long as I would be just totally committing myself in my house with the TV on and the distractions. It's way harder to do that than to go to church with a bunch of people who believe in God, where you can just feel it so much more."

BEYONCE ON HOW SHE WANTS TO BE REMEMBERED: "I don't want to be remembered as a member of this huge group that, you know, did whatever. I want to be acknowledged as a woman in a very talented group with great harmonies and great songs that made history and changed the culture of women, not only in America but all over the world. (A woman) who could sing a cappella and write her own songs and produce her own songs."

USHER'S WIFE, TAMEKA, CONFIRMS PREGNANCY OF THE COUPLE'S 2nd CHILD.

Looks like for once, Tameka beat Usher to the punch in confirming her much-rumored pregnancy after attending the grand opening of Tyler Perry's new television and film studios in Atlanta this past weekend alone. Various sources claim she's due to deliver her 5th child in December....just a mere 13 months after she gave birth to the couple's first child, Usher IV a.k.a. 'Cinco' last November. Ole girl has him locked, stock and barrel. There's no escaping her now! LOL!

However, I figured she was with child when I ran across this photo of her and Usher at video director Little X's recent wedding.
